In 2021, United Methodist Community Ministries (UMCM) awarded 36 grants for $150,500.00. The UMCM Board and Local Outreach Committee are pleased to announce the 2022 Grant Program. By way of grant funding, UMCM encourages congregations across Capitol Area North and South Districts to reach out and serve those in your local communities via missional ministries. UMCM and Capitol Area North and South District leadership have stated funding priorities for ministries that 1) create discipleship opportunities; 2) transform communities; 3) are sustainable. The United Methodist Community Ministries (UMCM) District Mission Center (DMC) grant is awarded to a limited number of multi-faceted ministry programs who exhibit exceptional effectiveness in leadership, volunteerism, and ministry programming with emphasis on an Anchor Ministry and multiple supporting Distinct Ministries all designed to enhance and empower the lives of those served in their community. Board &
Committees
The United Methodist Community Ministries Board is comprised of 14 Members: 6 from Capitol Area North (CAN), 6 from Capitol Area South (CAS) who are nominated by their respective District’s Nominations Committee and approved by their District membership at their Annual District Conference. The CAN and CAS District Superintendents also serve on the Board. UMCM has two Standing Committees: a Local Outreach Support Committee and a Finance and Investment Committee.
